Georgetown, one of the neighbourhoods in Penang, Malaysia is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The area has ample street food, pre-Second World War houses and buildings, 19th century churches, temples, mosques, and colonial buildings. This is a great area for a 1-3 day stopover if you’re traveling between southern Thailand and Kuala Lumpur by bus.
