Posting my favourite photos from a recent 13 month, 84,000km, 27 country-trip around the world. Pictures taken with love using a Canon Rebel XS (EOS 1000D).
Thanks Kurt. Is that a Halong Bay photo I see in your top 10 photos? I’m a little jealous because when I went the entire bay looked like a black and white movie due to the rain and cloudiness :)
Thanks Zeekid! I love this photo too – one of my favourites from the 17,200 I took this year. It was practically impossible to take a “bad” photo of these stairs. I guess the golden ratio really does work.
Have you tried processing it in black & white? While there may not be much midtones it might be a really interesting image with this strong composition and the lines of light and dark
Hi Zeekid, no I haven’t tried black and white, I usually try to have my travel photos look as close to real life as possible for people who are considering visiting in-person. Good suggestion though, might give the black and white a try later :)
Wow, thanks Melanie, glad you like the photo. My eyes lit up as soon as I saw this staircase at the exit of the Vatican Museum. I could have stayed at this staircase for hours just taking photos (or maybe next time I should do a time lapse :O)
Thanks Maria. Rome and the Vatican are definitely worth visiting. It’s beautiful, easy to photograph and there is an abundant amount of gelato and pizza too.
Great capture, the lighting is excellent!
